Our Work
Yellow Creek Botanical Institute's mission can be summarized in four ways:
Specifically, the Institute supports work in the following programs:
- Preserving regional ecosystems
- Preserving local agriculture
- Developing economic opportunities
- Preserving cultural identities
- Developing market and feasibility studies
- Maintaining a research and demonstration farm
- Conducting workshops, conferences, and other events
- Creating products and materials such as newsletters, brochures, and website
- Building partnerships and cooperatives - such as farmers cooperative - that will work to achieve the Institute's mission
- Propagation, cultivation, & analysis of Black Cohosh, Actaea racemosa: A threatened native medicinal plant
